Call for Posters English

The PhD Students‘ Forum will again take place within the framework of the 54th Deutsche Historikertag in Leipzig (19-22 September 2023). In addition to the meeting and an exchange workshop, there will be an opportunity to display dissertation projects visually to bring them closer to a general public in the field of history.

PhD students can present their research projects in the form of DIN A0 posters (in portrait format) and, in this way, establish contacts for their academic activities. The costs of printing and displaying the posters at the conference venue will be covered.

The posters will be widely accessible throughout the conference and displayed in a prominent position. A pre-selection of the submitted posters will be done by an independent committee – consisting of doctoral and post-doctoral researchers – taking into account the following criteria: 

To enable scientific communication beyond the on-site conference, the posters will be temporarily accessible on the L.I.S.A Wissenschaftsportal of the Gerda Henkel Foundation. In addition, a QR code on each poster will provide the opportunity to link to optional content of the research project (e.g. research profile, homepage of the presenter, topic-related animations, audio or video recordings). 

Applications are accepted from doctoral candidates at any stage of their dissertation project. The posters can be written in German or English. 

Accepted applicants will be notified by April and will receive a handout with instructions for the formal design of the posters. The closing date for submission of the final draft poster is 28.08.2023.
